After completing her training at the German School of Journalism in Munich and studying history, politics, and journalism, Doris Simon worked as a freelance journalist for television and radio in Bonn and Berlin. As a correspondent for RIAS Berlin and later Deutschlandradio, she reported from Bonn and Brussels. She served as a news editor at Deutschlandfunk, worked in the program management, and was a long-time presenter and editor for Informationen am Morgen and other current affairs programs. Since the summer of 2020, she has been reporting from the United States for Deutschlandradio’s programs.
