Dr. Amber Mehmood

 

Amber Mehmood, MBBS, MPH, FCPS

Dr. Amber Mehmood is an Associate Professor of Public Health and currently leading the Global Disaster Management, Humanitarian Relief and Homeland Security Concentration, at the University of South Florida, College of Public Health, USA. She is a trained surgeon and public health academic with a special focus on emergency public health preparedness, health systems strengthening, injury prevention, and quality of health services. Previously she has held faculty the positions at the Aga Khan University Pakistan, and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA. Her teaching and research portfolio covers a breadth of topics on global health, disaster management, injury surveillance, health care disparities, and monitoring and evaluation of health care interventions. Over the years, she has collaborated with academic institutions, biomedical researchers, national, governmental, and international organizations to support, enhance and sustain global health programs and develop capacity to strengthen local health systems.
